93 kilometers of beaches
Isla Margarita has 315 kilometers of coast, 93 kilometers of which are usable as beach for swimming, surfing , Kiteboarding , Windsurfing and so on.

Touristy beaches
The most visited beaches are Playa El Agua and Playa Parguito. At these several kilometers long sand beaches one can walk, sun-bathe, buy souvenirs, go water skiing, surfing, go jet skiing, or take off with an Ultralight. At both beaches there is a variety of restaurants, bars, beach chair and sun shade lettings. The selection of hotels and vacation homes is divers.

Calm beaches
Playa Guacuco is less toutisty than Playa El Agua and closer to Porlamar/Pampatar. The beach is surrounded with palms and has a large area with shallow water. Because of the shallow water waves can build, which makes the beach very popular with surfers (longboard). Here too one can enjoy showers, bathrooms and restaurants. However, the lack of hotels in close proximity makes the beach predominantly frequented by national tourists.
The windy beach
South of the airport lies the dream of all Windsurfers and kiteboarders: Playa El Yaque. It is world reknown for its excellent conditions for beginners and advanced alike. The large hip-deep area makes it a perfect training spot for those sports. At the numerous beach bars you find a relaxed international atmosphere. Some hotels and appartments are right by the beach.

Remote beaches
Especially Macanao holds many quiet beaches and with Playa la Restinga also the longest of all beaches of Margarita.
