Margarita offers good conditions for wave surfing at different spots on the island.

Playa Guacuco and Playa Parguito
The most popular beaches for surfing are Playa Guacuco and Playa Parguito. Both beaches are located in the north-east of the island and easy to reach by car. Depending on weather and wind conditions swell is building up to three meters. You can use Short Boards or Long Boards. The beaches are well developed with small restaurants and sun chair rentals. Playa Guacuco nevertheless is a little bit calmer than Playa Parguito. At both beaches showers and available and small schools offer surfboard rental.

Other beaches with waves
There are lots of lonely beaches with swell, but they are mainly not developed for tourists. Best option to find them is to go with some of the locals, because usually they know which is the best spot of the day and the local conditions and possible dangers of each single beach.
